Dvorak Buries Overtime Winner

Bensenville, IL (April 5th, 2013) —  Chicago’s Christian Dvorak scored the game winning goal in overtime Friday evening as the Steel beat the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 2-1 at The Edge Ice Arena.

It was Dvorak’s second goal of his USHL career when he put the puck past Cedar Rapids goalie, Michael Rotolo, with one minute, nine seconds left in overtime. Alex Roos and Jaccob Slavin assisted on the game winner.  It was Roos’ second helper of the contest.

The Steel jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 13:06 mark in the second period on Tim Davison’s goal. Cedar Rapids knotted the score 1-all at 8:19 in the third to force overtime.

Chris Nell made 32 saves in net for Chicago, while Rotolo tallies 36 in the loss. The Steel outshot the RoughRiders 38-32 in the game.

Chicago is back at The Edge on Saturday evening as Youngstown roles into town for a 7:05 p.m. faceoff.  Tickets for the game can be purchased by calling the Steel Ticket Office at 630-594-1161.
