Buttery Commits to Michigan State

Bensenville, IL (November 14th, 2007) -- The Chicago Steel have announced that defenseman Tim Buttery has committed to the Michigan State Spartans (CCHA) for the 2008-2009 season.

The 2007-2008 season is the second for the Northville Michigan native Buttery, who currently has a 0-7-7 line in 12 games.  During the ‘06-‘07 season Buttery played in 59 games finishing with a 2-17-19 line.

“Tim has made great strides from last year to this year and it has been noticeable on and off of the ice” said Head Coach/GM Steve Poapst.  “His commitment to Michigan State is a well deserved accomplishment for him.  Tim has become one of our most consistent defensemen on our team.”

Tim Buttery is the 10th member of the Steel to commit to a NCAA Division I school this year.

Michigan State is apart of the CCHA and currently has a 8-1-0 record.
