Steel To Support Puck Cancer and Children's Memorial Hospital

Bensenville, IL (November 20th, 2007) -- The Steel will play host to the Indiana Ice this Friday night and the Waterloo BlackHawks Saturday night, both games will be played at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville and the puck will drop at 7:35 p.m. both nights.

Fans coming out to Friday night’s game against the Ice will also be supporting Puck Cancer, an organization that the Steel teamed up with earlier in the season when the players wore pink jerseys in efforts to raise money for cancer support.  To help raise funds for Puck Cancer the Steel will be having a silent auction at the Customer Service Booth, which is located on the mezzanine level of the arena throughout the game.  There will be NHL memorabilia up for auction and items will include but not be limited to; an Chicago Blackhawk’s stick signed by the whole team, a game used stick and picture of Steve Poapst, former Chicago Blackhawk and current Steel Head Coach, a game used stick signed by the Philadelphia Flyers Mike Richards, a game used stick signed by the Philadelphia Flyers Simon Gagne, and a game used stick signed by Kimmo Timonen of the Flyers.  Come out early and bid often to get your memorabilia and support Puck Cancer.

Saturday night the Steel are proud to present the Teddy Bear Toss supported by the Patrick Riordan All State Agency.  When the Steel score their first goal of the game, fans will toss their Teddy Bears onto the ice to help celebrate and show their support for the patients at Children’s Memorial Hospital.  If you do not have a Teddy Bear to donate yourself, the Steel will have 200 Teddy Bears to give away to the first 200 fans to toss on the ice.  All Teddy Bears will be taken to The Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, and distributed to the patients.

Tickets are still available for both games, so make sure you come and support both of these great causes.  For tickets call 630.594.1165
