Steel Splits Weekend With Stars

Bensenville, IL (December 16th, 2007) -- The Chicago Steel came away with a 6-3 win on Friday night against the Lincoln Stars.  The Steel went 5 for 5 on the penalty kill and had been successful on the penalty kill 38 out of the last 41 times.  Steel forward, Andy Miele (University of Ohio-Miami), led the Steel in points with 2 goals and 1 assist.  The Steel were down 2-1 going into the beginning of the 3rd period, but Chicago rallied back with 5 goals in the span of 14 minutes for a come from behind win.  Will Weber (University of Ohio-Miami), Eric Alexander, Corey Chakeen, and Simon Olsson each contributed with 1 goal in the Steel victory over the Stars.

On Saturday night the Steel suffered a tough 2-0 loss.  The Steel out shot the Lincoln Stars 28 to 20, but Lincoln goalie, David Reekie, was perfect with 28 saves and an empty net goal at the 19:44 mark in the 3rd period to lock up the victory for the Stars.  Chicago goalie, Rob Madore (University of Vermont), had a superb game as well with 18 saves on 19 shots.
