Bensenville, IL (May 12th, 2007) -- The Chicago Steel have announced that forward James Knelman has committed to the Colgate Raiders (ECACHL) for the 2007 season.

The Edina, Minnesota native was in his first season with the Steel after playing for the highly regarded Academy of Holy Angels high school in Minneapolis, MN and for head coach Greg Trebil.

Knelman joined the Steel at the completion of the high school season in March and played in fifteen regular season games and five playoffs games for the club.

"Our staff is very proud of "Jak" for earning an opportunity to attend Colgate this season. He's an oustanding student-athlete and human being and those are the type of players we're trying to bring into the Steel program today," said General Manager Jason Koehler. "Knelman's a great person and player and we know he'll succeed in hockey and in life down the road."

James Knelman becomes the sixteenth Steel player to commit to a NCAA Division I school this year.

Colgate is a member of the ECACHL. They finished 15-21-4 on the season.
