Steel Teams Up With Two Great Causes


Bensenville, IL (February 12th, 2008) --  This weekend the Chicago Steel will play host to the Sioux City Musketeers on Friday, February 15th and Saturday, February 16th at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville. 

Along with the exciting action on the ice, the Chicago Steel have partnered up with ATI for ATI Foundation night on Friday, and the American Cancer Society for “Cross Check Cancer” night on Saturday.  Make sure to come out and support the team and these great organizations. 

Friday night, all Chuck A Puck Proceeds will be donated to the ATI Foundation, which was originated as a way for ATI, area businesses, and communities to give back to area children in need.  ATI, which is proud to be the official training and therapy provider for the Chicago Steel and also a proud sponsor of the Steel, will be having some of their staff members partake in broomball in between periods. 

Saturday night, the Steel are proud to announce they have teamed up with The American Cancer Society for "Cross Check Cancer" night.  Portions of the ticket and chuck-a-puck proceeds from Saturday night’s game will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Also during this special night, Luminaria bags will be available for a $5.00 donation.  All proceeds of the Luminaria bags will go to the American Cancer Society.  There will be a Luminaria ceremony immediately following the game.  All names placed on the Luminaria bags will be read as the bags are placed on the ice. 

Saturday is also Mascot night, where several mascots from Chicago area teams will come out and participate in mascot broomball, as well in arena activities and entertainment.  Some of the mascots that will be in attendance include your favorite mascot - Rusty, Chicago Bulls’ Benny the Bull, Chicago Wolves' Skates, Chicago Blackhawks’ Tommy Hawk, Chicago Fires’ Sparky, Chicago White Soxs’ South Paw, and many more so make sure you come out and support your local teams and mascots and root them on to victory in their broomball game. 

Tickets are available for both nights, and you can get yours by calling the Steel box office at (630) 594-1165.  Warm-ups begin at 7:00 and the puck will drop at 7:35 both nights.
