Opens Up At Home This Weekend

The Steel concluded their preseason with three games at
the Fall Classic in Sioux City, Iowa. The first two
games of the Classic saw the Steel loose one goal
contests to the Sioux Falls Stampede and the Lincoln
Stars. Chicago finished the preseason on Saturday with
a 4-1 victory over the Indiana Ice. Goaltender Matt
Delaney stopped 22 of 23 shots, while defenseman Max
Nicastro (Boston University) recorded two goals in the
victory. Defenseman John Moore (Colorado College)
finished the Fall Classic leading the team in points,
plus/minus and penalty minutes.
The Steel will begin their 9th
season this Saturday, October 4th when they
take on the Sioux City Musketeers at The Edge Ice Arena
in Bensenville. Game time is 7:30 with doors opening at
6:30. The first 1,000 fans will receive an issue of
Pure Hockey the Magazine with the feature article on
Chicago Steel Head Coach and General Manager Steve
Poapst. After the game fans will have a chance to meet
the team, collect autographs and take pictures during
“Skate with the Steel”. Tickets for the game are only $5
