Saves Day For Steel
Bensenville (January 9th,
2009)
--On Friday night in Cedar Rapids,
Nick Pisellini stood strong in goal, stopping 46 of 47
RoughRider shots to lead his team to a 2-1 victory.
Pisellini and the Steel special teams also killed off
all seven Cedar Rapids power plays, including a two-man
advantage early in the second.
Max Nicastro (Boston University,
Detroit Red Wings) opened the scoring just under nine
minutes into the game for what would be the only goal of
the 1st.
Cedar Rapids struck back in the
second to tie the game at one shortly after the Steel
returned to full strength after the 5-on-3. With six
minutes left in the second period, Mark Anthoine
(University of Maine) scored his sixth goal of the year,
which would hold up as the game-winner.
The Steel return to home ice Sunday
afternoon with a 3:00 p.m. matchup with the Des Moines
Buccaneers. Tickets can be ordered by calling the Steel
