Extra Time Needed

Bensenville, IL (November 7, 2009) -
Chicago
was looking for a split in Fargo, ND after dropping the
first game of a back-to-back 4-1.
The Steel got right to work, scoring at the close of the
first period on an unassisted goal by Mark Anthoine
(Maine), giving the Steel the 1-0 advantage with seconds
to play in the first. Anthoine now has five goals in his
last five games played.
In the second, Fargo came right back with two goals of
their own, including another power play goal from Alex
Lippincott after Steel Defenseman Dan Kolomatis was
called for tripping.
After two periods Fargo led 2-1.
Chicago pressed offensively, creating eleven shots on
goal, in effort to tie the match late. Greg Wolfe pulled
a rabbit out of his hat with a shorthanded goal, his
seventh of the year, which tied the game at two apiece
at the end of regulation.
The Steel’s continued pressure up front led to four
shots on goal in the fourth frame, but a shot by Nate
Schmidt brought the house down for Fargo 3-2 in OT.
Steel goalie Connor Wilson went 21-24, getting his third
start of the year. His record moves to 1-2 on the year.
Chicago now comes home to play the Des Moines Buccaneers
this Tuesday November 10th at the Edge Ice
Arena.
