Fargo Hand
Steel 3rd Loss In A Row
Story By: Steve Jankowski
Bensenville (March 7th,
2009)
-- The Chicago
Steel returned to Fargo's Urban Plains Center Saturday
night looking to exact some revenge for the 8-1 Force
rout the night before, but for the second straight
night, the Steel only found the back of the net once,
and dropped a 3-1 decision for their third straight
loss.
After a scoreless opening frame, Andy Taranto's
shorthanded goal just under three minutes into the
second put the Force ahead.
Alex
Simonson lit the lamp halfway through the second to tie
the game at one, but Fargo netminder Mike Lee held the
Steel off the board the rest of the night, allowing Matt
Leitner and Josh Birkholz to put the Force ahead for
good in the third.
Hudson Stremmel turned in a solid performance in net,
stopping 22 of the 24 Fargo shots he saw, but Lee was
slightly better, stopping 25 Chicago shots.
The
Steel will try to get back on the winning track at home
next Friday night against the Omaha Lancers at 7:30
p.m. Tickets for all Steel home games can be ordered by
calling the Steel Ticket Office at 630.594.1165. |
