Steel Summer
Camps In Conjunction With Steve Poapst Hockey Academy

The Chicago Steel are proud to be partnered with the
Steve Poapst Hockey Academy for the SPHA summer camps
again this July.
July 7th-10th
– Mites, Squirts, Pee-Wee’s
- 4
Full Days Of Activity
- 2+
hours of ice time each day!

Skating technique, shooting, puck handling, checking and
safety discussed in detail
-
Learn how to apply skills to the game day.
All
participants of The Steve Poapst Hockey Academy will
also receive off-ice instruction in lacrosse presented
by Lacrosse America.
The
Academy will also have the use of the John St. pool for
all campers at a certain
time
each day. Campers will have supervised access to; swim,
use the
outdoor climbing wall and other amenities of The Edge.
July 14th- 16th
– Junior Skills
This
camp is designed to not only help players develop their
individual skills but more importantly on the proper way
to apply these skills in game situations that will be
faced at the highest levels of Junior hockey. The main
focus of this camp will be on the player s decision
making with the puck when placed in certain game type
situations. Players
can
expect to learn how to utilize their one-on one skills
while still protecting the puck in order to generate
scoring opportunities. They will also learn how to read
offensive rush opportunities properly to generate the
best way to create scoring chances as well as many other
game type concepts.
This
camp will be run exclusively by the coaching staff of
the Chicago Steel Hockey Team to provide the players
with the best hands on information of what can be
expected at the highest level of junior hockey in the
United States.
