Edge
Bensenville
(July
2nd,
2009)
-- With
the 2009 team selected, the Chicago Steel staff is
focusing their attention on their annual Youth Hockey
Camp, presented by the Steve Poapst Hockey Academy. The
Edge Ice Arena, home rink to the Steel, will be the host
of the hockey camp for players at the Mite, Squirt and

The camp is designed to not only
help players develop their individual skills, but more
importantly, on the proper way to apply these skills in
game situations that they will be faced with at the
highest levels of Junior hockey. The four day camp
includes over two hours of ice time each day, focusing
on skating techniques, shooting, puck handling, checking
and safety. In addition, campers will participate in
off-ice activities, such as daily lacrosse games and
instruction by Lacrosse America.
Staff includes Chicago Steel Head
coach and former Chicago Blackhawk Steve Poapst and
Steel goalie instructor Kelly Gee. Furthermore, former
and current players, as well as other members of the
Chicago Steel staff, will be in attendance to assist
with on and off ice activities.
The camp runs July 7th-10th,
and is the first in a series of camps presented by the
Chicago Steel during the summer months of July and
August. Spaces are still available for the 2009 Chicago
