Steel Announce Exhibition Schedule

Bensenville, IL (July 22, 2009) - Although their season doesn’t officially start until October 2^nd, the Chicago Steel have announced an extensive preseason schedule, including several home matches and participation in the 2009 Fall Classic.

Chicago will welcome the Youngstown Phantoms to The Edge Ice Arena for preseason games one and two, on September 11^th and 12^th at 7:30pm..

The following weekend Chicago will host “The Clash of the East at The Edge” mini-tournament, featuring the Steel, and rivals Green Bay and Indiana. The first game, held on Friday September 18^th at 7:30pm between Indiana and Chicago, will kick off the weekend tournament. Game two will feature Indiana vs. Green Bay on Saturday September 19^th at 7:30pm, followed by the final game played on Sunday September 20^th between Green Bay and Chicago at 2pm.

After four home games, the Steel will head to Sioux City, Iowa for the 2009 USHL Fall Classic, held September 24^th-26^th at the Tyson Events Center and IBP Ice Center. It will be the third consecutive year that the Sioux City Musketeers will host the annual event, which will consist of tournament play between all 14 USHL teams in front of scouts from all 30 NHL clubs and 59 Division I collegiate programs.  
Although the Steel have taken on a busy preseason agenda, the games will give Chicago the chance to evaluate their USHL opponents and better prepare for future meetings. Following the Fall Classic, the Steel jumps right into regular season game play with a home and home series with Team USA.
