Bensenville, IL (August 19, 2009)- Chicago
Steel defenseman Kevin Lind has recently announced his
commitment to play at the University of Notre Dame.
Although details regarding when Lind will join the Irish
has yet to be announced, the Homer Glen, Illinois native
is set to once again play for the Steel in their
upcoming 2009-2010 season. Between the organization’s
start in 2000, the Steel has committed over 110 players
to Division I programs. Additionally, this will be the
first recruit from the Steel organization by the
University of Notre Dame since 2006 when the Irish took
Steel forward Dan Kissel and defenseman Stewart Carlin.
The Fighting Irish finished 31-3-6
overall in their 2008-2009 season. This past March Notre
Dame was selected the No.1 seed in the Midwest Regional
tournament, however, fell in the first round of
post-season play to the Bemidji State Beavers. Despite
an unfortunate playoff run, Notre Dame has always been
known for their outstanding hockey program, as three
recent graduates have signed NHL contracts since the end
of the 2008-2009 season.
The
Steel begins their 2009-2010 season Friday October 2,
2009 against Team USA, with home games held at The Edge
Ice Arena in Bensenville, Illinois. For ticket and
