Steel Victorious In Shootout

Bensenville, IL (October 30, 2010) -  
For the second night in a row Chicago went to a shootout, but unlike Friday’s result, the Steel pulled through to earn a 2-1 victory over Team USA Saturday at The Edge Ice Arena.

Danny Mattson (University of North Dakota) and Tim Weber tallied the goals for the Steel in the shootout, while Reid Boucher scored for Team USA.

Chicago quickly jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Matthew Friese scored :56 seconds into the first period. Mario Lucia tied it up for Team USA at the 16:54 mark of the second period.

Ian Young (Colorado College) assisted on Friese’s score and Connor Wilson (Yale University) made 31 saves in net for the Steel.

Chicago travels to Des Moines next Friday to take on the Buccaneers at 7:05 p.m.
