25 Man Roster Announced

Bensenville, IL (June 23rd, 2010) -
With selection camp over, the Chicago Steel released
their initial 25 man roster for the 2010-2011
season. The 25-man roster includes 13 Steel
veterans and 12 new members.
Selection camp took place June 11th
- 16th and saw over 150 players competing to
make the Steel squad. Head coach and General
Manager Steve Poapst commented
saying, "The level of play was high which made for a
great camp to evaluate everyone, but tough for the
players to make [the
team]." Each
player showed talent, determination, and heart through
out the weeklong tryout.
Making his return to the Steel is
starting goaltender Connor Wilson. He will be
joined by 12 other fellow teammates from last season and
they include Defensemen; Michael Gunn, Ian Young, Dan Kolomatis,
and Peter Hand. On the offensive front from last
year are veterans Andrei Kuchin, Matt Esposito, Darik Angeli, Jay Camper,
Alex Carpenter, Theo Dipauli, Danny Mattson and Cole
Gunner.
The Steel also had many of their draft picks from
the 2010 draft make the 25 man squad and they include
include 1st overall pick Adam Krause, 4th
overall pick Joel Benson, Sam Windle, Michael Holland,
Zachary Saar and Steven Fogarty.
David Bondra, a Steel draft
pick in 2009 and son of NHL player Peter Bonrdra, also
joins the Chicago Steel squad.
Rounding off the 25 man list are
Goaltender Adam
Miller and forwards, Nick D’Avolio, Darren Nykaza, Alex
Denezhkin, and Michael Sit who all hope to add to the strong offense of the
Steel.
The Steel will trim down their
roster to 23 players following the USHL Fall Classic in
September.
