Samuelsson Earns Tryout With U.S. National Junior Team

Bensenville, IL (July 29th, 2010) - Philip
Samuelsson (who played for the Chicago Steel 2008-2009)
will be attending the USA National Junior Evaluation
camp in Lake Placid, New York. Samuelsson will be
among 43 other players vying for a spot on the U.S.
National Junior Team. Tryouts begin Friday, July 30th
and will consist of practices, scrimmages, and
competitions between the United States, Finland, and
Sweden.
Native to Leksand, Sweden,
Samuelsson recorded 22 points with the Steel in 54 games
and went on to play for Boston College where he earned
14 points with 1 goal and 13 assists in 42 games.
Samuelsson was drafted in the 2nd round (61st
overall) by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The U.S. National Junior Team will
compete in the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation
World Championship in Buffalo, New York. For the full
