Bensenville, IL (January 1, 2011) - The Green
Bay Gamblers used goals by Jean-Paul LaFontaine, Travis
Lynch, Grant Arnold, Sam Herr and Robert Francis to
defeat the Chicago Steel 5-1 on Saturday night. It is
the second time in two weeks that the Gamblers have
skated out of The Edge Ice Arena with a victory over the
Steel.
R.J. Boyd scored the lone goal for the Steel, the first
of his USHL career. Adding the assist on Boyd’s goal was
Tucker Brockett.
The Steel held the Gamblers scoreless for the first 34
minutes of the contest, but LaFontaine and Lynch scored
three minutes apart in the second stanza to open up the
flood gates for Green Bay.
Connor Wilson made 18 saves for Chicago, while Ryan
McKay made 22 in the win.
The Steel are back at The Edge on Sunday for a 3 p.m.
matchup with the Omaha Lancers.
