Third Period Troubles Steel
(November 19th, 2011) - Andrew Miller and Charlie O’Connor scored both goals for the Steel Saturday evening, but Mike Matheson, Matthew Caito, T.J. Moor and Gerard Hanson each put one past Steel goaltender Mathias Dahlstrom for Dubuque as the Fighting Saints skated to a 4-2 victory at The Edge Ice Arena.

Miller gave the Steel a 1-0 lead at the 2:54 mark of the second period. Jimmy DeVito and Chris Joyaux added the assists on Miller's goal. Matheson and Caito scored five minutes apart to give Dubuque a 2-1 lead late in the second, but O'Connor knotted the score 2-all with 42 seconds before intermission.

Jeff Kubiak and Michael Fallon tallied the assist on O'Connor's score.

The Fighting Saints took the lead and never looked back in the third period with goals from Moor and Hanson.

Gabe Antoni made 18 saves in the win for Dubuque, while Dahlstrom turned away 26 shots in the loss.
