Steel Fall Short To Dubuque
(November 4th, 2011) - Chicago's Mathias Dahlstrom
made 26 saves in net, but Dubuque's two second period
powerplay goals led the Fighting Saints to a 2-1 victory
over the Steel Friday evening in front of 3,000 fans at
the Mystique Ice Center.
Aidan Cavallini notched Chicago’s goal with seven
minutes, 56 seconds left in the game on Andrew Miller’s
and Phillip Marinaccio’s assists. For Cavallini, it was
his second goal in two games and good for his fourth
point of the season.
Zemgus Girgensons and Tyler Lundey added the goals for
the defending United States Hockey League Champions at
the 4:24 and 13:03 marks of the second. Dubuque won the
shots battle 28-17 and Gabe Antoni stopped 16 Chicago
shots in the win.
The Steel are in action this evening against the Des
Moines Buccaneers. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. in
Dubuque.
