Puck Cancer Weekend
Bensenville, IL (February 1, 2011) - The
Chicago Steel will host their fourth annual “Real Men
Wear Pink” weekend when they face Team USA U-17 on
Friday and the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Saturday. Faceoff
for both contests is 7:30 p.m.
The Steel will trade in their home jerseys and don pink
uniforms to raise awareness and money for cancer
research. Fans will have the chance to bid on the
game-worn jerseys all night Friday and up until the end
of the second intermission on Saturday.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Puck Cancer
Foundation, which is dedicated to raising funds to find
a cure for cancer and helping the families whose lives
have been changed by the disease.
Mike Rigitano will also be in attendance the Edge Ice
Arena on Saturday. Mr. Rigitano created a life-size
replica Stanley Cup out of 7000 bottle caps and will
have the cup on display for the fans and will be open
for questions regarding his conception.
