Steel Lanced By Omaha

Bensenville, IL (April 1, 2011) -
Omaha’s Set Ambroz, Nick Oddo and Adam Chlapik all had two goals for the Lancers in their 6-2 victory over the Chicago Steel Friday night at Omaha’s Civic Auditorium.

The Lancers grabbed 1-0 lead four minutes, 21 seconds in the first period on Ambroz’s goal.

In the second period, Chicago tied the score, 1-1, at the :43 mark, when Zach Saar tallied his fourth goal of the season. Saar would contribute on Steven Fogarty’s goal 11 minutes later as Chicago grabbed a 2-1 lead.

The Steel held the lead for nearly five minutes before Ambroz notched his second goal at 16:01. Twenty seconds later, Oddo put the puck past Connor Wilson to give the Lancer’s a 3-2 advantage.

Oddo earned his second goal with 17 seconds left in the third, closing out a period that saw five goals between the two clubs.
In the third period, Chlapik, who assisted on Amboz’s game opening goal, made the score 5-2 at 3:44. He added his second goal of the period three minutes later.

Wilson turned away 20 shots in the loss for Chicago. Todd Mathews got the start for Omaha making five stops, while teammate John Keeney had 10 saves after coming in for Mathews.

Chicago will head to Des Moines on Saturday for a 7:05 p.m. puck drop against the Buccaneers.
