Miele Wins Hobey Baker
Award
Bensenville, IL (April 8, 2011) - The Chicago Steel
are extremely proud to announce that Andy Miele has won
the 2010-2011 Hobey Baker award.
Andy played 78 games with the Steel
during the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 season registering 45
goals, 44 assists and 89 penalty minutes.
Miele is the second leading goal scorer in Steel
history, only behind Andrew Miller (Yale
University) who played 124 total games
with Chicago
and had 48 goals.
Miele, who was the nation's leading point scorer with
71 points signed as an undrafted free agent with Phoenix
when his college career ended..
Miele completed his senior season with 24 goals and
47 assists in 39 games for the RedHawks.
Miami
lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The 22-year-old native of
Grosse Pointe Woods, MI., has earned several honors this
year including being named the CCHA Player of the Year
and the First-Team All-CCHA and CCHA Tournament MVP
after leading the RedHawks to their first Mason Cup in
school history in March.
