STEEL ANNOUNCE 2017-2018 PRESEASON SCHEDULE

Chicago hosts Central Illinois in Sept. 23 exhibition at Fox Valley Ice Arena

GENEVA, ILLINOIS — The 2017 Clark Cup Champion Chicago Steel announced Wednesday the preseason schedule for the 2017-2018 season. The six-game exhibition slate includes a home-and-home series against the I-55 rival Central Illinois Flying Aces (formerly the Bloomington Thunder), a visit to the Dubuque Fighting Saints, and three games against Western Conference opponents (Waterloo Black Hawks, Lincoln Stars, Des Moines Buccaneers) at the 2017 USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Twp., Pa.

The lone home preseason contest takes place Saturday, Sept. 23 at Fox Valley Ice Arena. Puck drop against Central Illinois is set for 7:05 p.m. CT and ticket information will be announced soon.

The 2017-2018 regular season, Chicago’s 18th in the USHL, opens Friday, Oct. 6 at Dubuque. The following night - Saturday, Oct. 7 – the Steel’s home opener will feature the unveiling of the 2016-2017 Clark Cup Championship Banner and a pre-game ring ceremony to celebrate the team’s first Clark Cup Championship. Faceoff against Team USA (U17) is set for 7:05 p.m.
