Jaccob Slavin tallies multi-point game in Qualifying Round

Six Steel alumni were included on rosters to begin the 2020 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. We're keeping track of every one of them and will be releasing updates every week throughout the playoffs.

Jaccob Slavin - Carolina Hurricanes

Slavin helped the Carolina Hurricanes to a three-game sweep of the New York Rangers in the 2020 Stanley Cup Qualifying Round.

The former Steel captain tallied his first career Stanley Cup Playoffs marker in a 3-2 Hurricanes victory over the Rangers on Saturday in Game 1. It was the first goal in the NHL's Stanley Cup Qualifying Round format. The Denver, Colo., native added an assist on what proved to be Carolina's game-winning goal for his fourth career multi-point playoff outing.

Carolina defeated the Rangers by a 4-1 score on Monday and completed the sweep with another 4-1 win on Tuesday. Slavin, the 6-foot-3, 207-pound skater, led the Canes in time on ice in all three contests with an average of 24:02 per game, 15th in the NHL through Tuesday night.
