Dan Vladar makes NHL debut in net with Boston Bruins

Six Steel alumni were included on rosters to begin the 2020 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. We're keeping track of every one of them and will be releasing updates every week throughout the playoffs.

DAN VLADAR - BOSTON BRUINS

Vladar made his NHL debut in Game 3 against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday. The Prague, Czech Republic, native relieved Jaroslav Halak in the middle frame, making 12 saves in 24:46 of game action.

The 6-foot-5, 185-pound netminder signed a three-year contract extension with the Bruins on Sunday.

JOHN MOORE - BOSTON BRUINS

The Boston Bruins eliminated the Carolina Hurricanes on August 19th to advance to a second-round matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The clubs battled to a 1-1 series deadlock after two games with a 3-2 Bruins win in Game 1 on Sunday and a 4-3 overtime win from the Lightning in Game 2 on Tuesday.

Moore made his 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs debut in Game 3 on Wednesday, a 7-1 loss to Tampa Bay. The former USHL Defenseman of the Year charted 15:39 of ice time with five hits and a pair of blocked shots.

JAMIE OLEKSIAK - DALLAS STARS

The 6-foot-7, 255-pound blueliner helped the Stars to a series victory, a 7-3 win on August 20th in Game 6 against the Calgary Flames. 

Oleksiak charted points in back-to-back games to start his club's second-round matchup against the Colorado Avalanche. With an assist and six hits, the Toronto, Ontario, native helped his team to a 5-3 win on Saturday. He followed up the performance by leading the team with six blocked shots and netted his third goal of the postseason during a 5-2 victory in Game 2 on Monday. 

On Wednesday, Dallas fell by a 6-4 score in Game 3 but still hold a 2-1 series edge. Oleksiak led the team and notched a playoff career-high with eight hits and added four blocked shots.

JACCOB SLAVIN - CAROLINA HURRICANES

Slavin and the Carolina Hurricanes dropped a 2-1 decision to the Boston Bruins in Game 5 on August 19th, eliminating the club from the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The native of Denver, Colo., logged a team-high 25:09 of ice time with three shots on goal in the loss.

Through eight games in the return to play format, Slavin totaled one goal and one helper and led his team with 26:02 of average time on ice.


MACKENZIE MACEACHERN - ST. LOUIS BLUES

MacEachern and the Blues were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 6-2 loss against the Vancouver Canucks in Game 6 on Friday.

The native of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., made his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut with a total of five games played, averaging 6:46 of ice time per game.
