NHL Opening Night Rosters

A RECORD 107 USHL ALUMNI WERE NAMED TO NHL OPENING DAY ROSTERS AHEAD OF THE 2016-17 SEASON.

 

The National Hockey League announced club rosters, as of 10 a.m. (EST) today. Some players who recently have agreed to terms with their respective clubs but whose contracts had not yet been approved by the league are not included. The United States Hockey League had 107 alumni listed on NHL rosters, an increase of 14 from last season’s opening-day rosters. The Los Angeles Kings led all NHL teams with nine USHL alumni on their opening roster. In total, seven NHL teams had five or more USHL alumni listed on their opening night roster: Los Angeles Kings (9), Detroit Red Wings (8), Boston Bruins (7), New Jersey Devils (6), Buffalo Sabres (5), Carolina Hurricanes (5) and Chicago Blackhawks (5). The 2016-17 regular season begins with four games tonight.
