GENEVA, ILLINOIS — The United States Hockey League (“USHL”) announced Tuesday its list of 2017-2018 End of Year Awards, and five Chicago Steel players — Oskar Autio, Jack Dugan, Graham Lillibridge, Robert Mastrosimone and Baker Shore — received honors. Dugan (forward) and Lillibridge (defenseman) were named to the All-USHL First Team, Autio (goaltender) and Mastrosimone (forward) were selected to the All-USHL Rookie First Team, and Shore (forward) earned USHL All-Academic Team honors.
“This is a tremendous and well-deserved honor for all of our players,” said Steel Head Coach Ryan Cruthers. “I am extremely proud of what they were able to accomplish this season both on and off the ice. I look forward to working with our returners and I’m excited to see what our players moving on can accomplish at the next level.”
Dugan, 20, led the Steel in the regular season in both goals (31) and points (66), with each total ranking second in Steel single-season team history. The Vegas Golden Knights prospect also notched eight points (2-6–8) in seven postseason games, currently tied for the USHL lead in playoff points. Dugan, a native of Rochester, N.Y., is expected to begin his NCAA career this fall at Providence College (Hockey East).
Lillibridge, 19, just completed his second season with his hometown (Geneva, Ill.) team, and third overall in the USHL. He ranks fourth in Steel career regular season assists (65), first in Steel all-time playoff assists (15) and second in Steel all-time playoff points (17). An alternate captain with Chicago, Lillibridge helped the team to the 2017 Clark Cup Championship and is expected to begin his NCAA career this fall at Yale University (ECAC).
Autio, 18, completed his first USHL season with a regular-season record of 20-16-0-1 with a 2.90 goals-against average and .904 save percentage. The Espoo, Finland, native went 3-2-2 in the postseason, making 250 saves on 271 shots. He is committed to Penn State University (Big Ten).
Mastrosimone, 17, was one of three Steel skaters (along with Shore and Aaro Vidgren) to appear in all 67 combined regular season and postseason games. His 45 regular-season points (16-29–45) ranked third among all USHL rookies. The East Islip, N.Y., is committed to Boston University (Hockey East).
Shore, 18, earned a 4.00 unweighted GPA at Wheaton North High School. The Englewood, Colo., native is expected to begin his student-athlete career this fall at Harvard University (ECAC) and is currently undecided on a major. Shore’s Steel career finishes with 64 regular-season points (29-35–64) and nine postseason points (5-4–9). Like Lillibridge, Shore wore an “A” as an alternate captain with the Steel and was part of the 2017 Clark Cup Championship team.
